As the Manager, Indirect Tax Technology at DoorDash India in Hyderabad, you will lead the offshore Vertex and ERP Integrations Center of Excellence within the growing tax team. Your day-to-day involves overseeing technical configurations of the Vertex tax engine, managing automated testing frameworks, and leading a team of configuration and testing specialists. You will act as the central technical authority, ensuring accurate sales tax, VAT, and gross receipts tax calculations across platforms like DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo. Your work includes driving ERP-to-Vertex integrations, reviewing system requirements, managing support tickets, and assessing technical impacts for new business initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical configuration of Vertex including tax drivers, custom rules, and jurisdiction logic.
• Lead and develop the offshore CoE team by allocating workload and providing quality oversight.
• Design and enhance the automated tax testing framework across unit, integration, and regression phases.
• Serve as the senior point of escalation for testing defects and provide go-live technical recommendations.
• Manage ERP-to-Vertex integrations to ensure seamless transaction flows and downstream financial reporting.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business and tax requirements into system logic.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or technology consulting with indirect tax tech work.
• Hands-on experience implementing and configuring Vertex O Series across tax drivers and custom rules.
• Experience integrating Vertex O Series with ERP systems like Oracle NetSuite.
• Experience with global Vertex implementation across US indirect tax and global VAT regimes.
• Demonstrated people-leadership or team-lead experience in coaching and workload delegation.
• Strong system testing experience with API testing tools like Postman and SOAP UI.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Computer Science.

Good to have

• Experience with Alteryx, Snowflake, SQL, and data reconciliation tools.
• Vertex Certified Implementer certification.
• Knowledge of Marketplace Facilitator laws.
• Experience with Vertex Edge.
