As a Senior Associate for Financial Reporting at Headout in Bengaluru, your day-to-day work involves handling the numbers for the B2B and distribution business. You will manage billing partners, record and collect cash across different entities and currencies, and ensure accurate monthly book closures. The Finance team at Headout supports a fast-growing global travel marketplace that connects people with real-life experiences. In this position, you will collaborate closely with marketing, supply, partnerships, and auditors. Your daily tasks include tracking receivables, reconciling bank balances, managing invoices, ensuring correct tax applications, and building robust foundations in accounting and financial reporting while helping scale operations in India.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close processes including accruals, provisions, and closing entries.
• Record daily bank transactions across multiple currencies and entities while tracing missing receipts.
• Reconcile bank and intercompany balances monthly, investigate variances, and resolve open items.
• Manage B2B billing by raising invoices, handling prepaid wallet balances, and sharing statements.
• Track receivables weekly and monthly to collect funds on time and answer partner queries.
• Ensure GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements are properly applied on invoices and books.
• Partner with internal, tax, and statutory auditors by preparing schedules and answering queries.
• Work with cross-functional teams to find the right accounting treatment for new business initiatives.

Requirements

• CA Inter or semi-qualified CA qualification.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, receivables, audit, or controllership.
• Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals like journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Practical experience with invoicing, receivables, cash application, and bank reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of Ind AS, GST, and TDS principles.
• Familiarity with multi-currency transactions and basic foreign exchange concepts.
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for managing and analyzing numbers.
• Clear written communication skills for interacting with partners, banks, and internal teams.

Good to have

• Articleship or prior experience in statutory audit, financial reporting, or controllership with a Big 4 or large firm.
• Experience working in a high-growth startup, travel, technology, or marketplace business.
• Exposure to multi-entity accounting, intercompany reconciliations, or prepaid partner models.
• Experience using ERP or accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Tally.
• Interest in automation, data analysis, or using AI to improve finance processes.
