Senior Site Reliability Engineer

The Center for Data & Insights (CDI) in India is looking for a senior technical leader to join as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer. In this role, you will work closely with Engineering, Data, Infrastructure, Product, and Security teams to improve the performance, security, scalability, and reliability of consumer-facing data platforms. A normal day involves designing resilient cloud-native systems, driving observability and automation initiatives, establishing SLIs and SLOs, planning capacities, managing incidents, and strengthening cloud and Kubernetes security controls to support the company's data and insights ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Define and improve platform reliability and performance using SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Build and evolve monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting capabilities for proactive issue detection.
• Develop automation, self-service tools, and self-healing mechanisms to reduce operational toil.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and platform standardization to enhance operational agility.
• Design and optimize cloud-native infrastructure for scalability and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with security teams to integrate security controls and manage vulnerabilities.
• Support disaster recovery, capacity planning, and incident management best practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in SRE, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related fields.
• Strong experience operating and troubleshooting Kubernetes and GCP at scale.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems administration, networking, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages like Go, Python, Java, or Shell.
• Experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog.
• Familiarity with cloud security, container security, and security frameworks.

Good to have

• Experience with CI/CD security and secure infrastructure operations.
• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10, IAM, and secrets management.
• Background in supporting penetration testing and remediation activities.
