MongoDB is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Products and Technology team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will help build a new platform designed to simplify how customers create AI applications using MongoDB. The Bengaluru team focuses on developing cutting-edge technologies that support the scalable deployment of AI solutions. A normal working day involves collaborating closely with product management, research, design, and other engineering groups to shape the architecture of the service. You will design, build, and test core platform components, contribute to code reviews, optimize system performance and reliability, and mentor fellow engineers while working in a hybrid environment based in Bengaluru.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with research, product management, design, and engineering peers to define the platform's vision.
• Design, build, and deliver well-tested core pieces of the new AI platform.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and development practices.
• Mentor fellow engineers and take ownership and accountability for projects.
• Improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of distributed systems infrastructure.
• Identify technical problems and implement effective solutions for large code bases.

Requirements

• Strong background in building core components for high scale compute and data distributed systems.
• 5+ years of experience in building distributed systems and/or foundational cloud services at scale.
• Interest in working with Python, Go, and Java.
• Proven success in designing, writing, testing, debugging, and performance-tuning distributed or concurrent software.
• Strong grip on the foundational materials of computer science.
• Good verbal and written technical communication skills with a desire to collaborate.

Good to have

• Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Experience with AI frameworks and tools.
