Senior Territory Manager, Bank Retail & Direct Enterprise Sales

Razorpay, a leading full-stack financial technology company powering businesses across India and Asia, is looking for a Senior Territory Manager for Bank Retail & Direct Enterprise Sales in Chennai. In this role, you will drive merchant acquisition and revenue growth for Razorpay's offline payment solutions across your assigned territory. Razorpay builds smarter, scalable financial infrastructure, from AI-native payments to fraud detection and automated reconciliation, supported by a culture that values ownership, transparency, and autonomy. A normal day in this role involves generating business opportunities through field sales and market mapping, managing the complete sales cycle, visiting merchants, collaborating with banking partners, and coordinating with internal cross-functional teams to ensure seamless merchant onboarding, activation, and portfolio growth.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales of Razorpay Offline Payment Solutions and meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
• Identify and acquire new merchants across Retail, SME, Mid-Market, and Enterprise segments through field sales and prospecting.
• Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to merchant onboarding, activation, documentation, and KYC completion.
• Maintain long-term relationships with the assigned merchant portfolio, driving retention, transaction growth, and cross-selling.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with partner bank branches to generate quality merchant referrals and conduct joint meetings.
• Build relationships with aggregators, franchise networks, and enterprise customers to secure key accounts.
• Coordinate closely with Operations, Product, Risk, Finance, and Customer Success teams to ensure smooth deployment and issue resolution.
• Track competitor activities, market trends, and execute local sales campaigns to increase market share.

Requirements

• 8 to 10 years of experience in Merchant Acquiring, FinTech, Banking, Payment Solutions, POS Sales, or Financial Services.
• Proven experience in field sales and merchant acquisition.
• Strong exposure to Retail, SME, Enterprise, Aggregator, and Banking channels.
• Good understanding of POS acquiring, Soundbox, QR, and Payment Gateway solutions.
• Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently in a target-driven environment.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
