As a Staff Software Engineer at Zeta Global in Bangalore, you will provide hands-on technical leadership for the company's Forecasting and Recommendations platforms. Zeta Global is a data-powered marketing technology company that helps enterprise brands acquire, grow, and retain customers through the Zeta Marketing Platform and its AI-driven capabilities. In this role, your daily focus involves designing, building, and operating high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems. You will write production-quality code daily, architect SaaS services, build production-grade agentic applications, handle incident resolution, and champion system reliability and observability. Working deeply across backend systems, infrastructure, and AI application architecture, you will also help set technical direction and provide guidance across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate systems supporting forecasting, recommendations, and agentic AI workflows in production.
• Write production-quality code daily and own services end-to-end through incident resolution.
• Architect low-latency, high-throughput SaaS services including APIs, data pipelines, and model inference.
• Build and maintain production-grade agentic applications with tool-using agents and guardrails.
• Work with foundational LLMs and select appropriate deployment patterns based on tradeoffs.
• Champion observability, reliability, metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Lead production incident response, retrospectives, and systemic fixes.
• Provide technical guidance across teams and participate in architectural reviews.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Track record of hands-on ownership of business-critical services with measurable improvements.
• Deep expertise in systems design including service boundaries, concurrency, and scalability tradeoffs.
• Production experience supporting machine learning-driven systems and serving pipelines.
• Expert-level experience with AWS for designing and operating cloud-native systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerized microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages like Python, Java, Go, or Scala.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, mathematics, related field, or equivalent experience.

Good to have

• Experience operating software in both on-prem data center and AWS cloud environments.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and GitHub Copilot.
• Experience with frameworks and tooling such as LangChain and voice agents.
