As a Staff Software Engineer at OneTrust in Bengaluru, you will join an agile Product Engineering team focused on shaping the future of responsible data use and AI governance. OneTrust builds the AI-Ready Governance Platform, unifying regulatory intelligence, automation, and connected governance workflows to help businesses innovate safely. In this role, you will act as a key technical resource, owning complex features and components from initial design through production. A normal day involves independent technical execution, driving architecture discussions, partnering with Product and UX teams, conducting peer code reviews, and collaborating with senior engineers across the organization. You will also champion modern testing practices and support the growth of junior colleagues, all while working in an office-first culture that encourages collaboration three days a week.

Responsibilities

• Independently deliver complex features and components from design through production
• Drive system architecture and component-design discussions for your area
• Collaborate closely with Product, UX, and engineering partners during planning and execution
• Conduct peer code reviews and establish quality standards for the team
• Champion testing practices, including exploratory and AI-assisted testing
• Support the ramp-up and growth of Associate and Software Engineers
• Proactively surface risks, ambiguity, and open questions during planning

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency in Core Java, Spring, Spring boot, hibernate, microservices, and Kafka messaging
• Experience with agentic platforms such as Microsoft foundry, agent core, Google vertex, or Bedrock
• Demonstrated experience owning complex features end-to-end in frontend or backend systems
• Familiarity with public cloud providers like Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS
• Hands-on professional experience using AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, Devin, or Windsurf

Good to have

• Experience informally mentoring or supporting the growth of junior engineers
