As a Staff Software Engineer at OneTrust in Bengaluru, you will lead the technical direction for major system domains and feature areas. Responsibilities
- Lead system architecture and design for large-scale domains, meeting reliability, growth, and compliance needs.
- Partner proactively with Product, UX, and engineering teams to shape problems before coding begins.
- Establish engineering standards for code reviews, testing, and incident reviews across multiple teams.
- Identify and mitigate systemic technical risks, architectural drift, and single points of failure.
- Mentor mid-level and senior engineers on technical decision-making and scoping ambiguity.
- Evaluate and apply AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery without skipping human design thinking.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Extensive hands-on expertise in object-oriented design and application development using Java/J2EE, Spring MVC, Design Patterns, DSA, Multithreading, and SQL.
- Experience working with Elasticsearch and data streaming tools like Kafka.
- Strong understanding of web services and SOA standards including REST, OAuth, and JSON.
- Practical experience with Agile development methodologies like Scrum, XP, or Pair Programming.
- Professional experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Devin, or Windsurf.
- Familiarity with cloud services and open-source technologies across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Proficiency in Kubernetes cluster deployment, scaling, and management.
