Couchbase, the operational data platform for AI, is looking for an Accounting Analyst to join its team in Bangalore. In this role, you will be part of the finance operations team supporting the company's accounting activities. A normal day as an Accounting Analyst involves handling general accounting duties such as journal entries, reconciliations, preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable invoicing, and assisting with monthly and quarterly financial closes. You will also coordinate with the US finance teams, ensure adherence to US GAAP, support audit preparations, and help maintain accurate accounting records.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day finance and general accounting operations including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Handle Accounts Payable invoicing and employee claims accurately.
- Assist in the timely execution of monthly and quarterly accounting closes.
- Support the preparation of audit PBCs and post entries in NetSuite.
- Collate data for local VAT and Tax filings for international subsidiaries.
- Coordinate with US Finance teams and other departments to ensure accurate records.
- Help identify process inefficiencies and support the Senior Accounting Manager on ad hoc tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
- 4+ years of experience in an accounting role.
- Knowledge of US GAAP standards.
- Experience working with NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and independent with a strong work ethic.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision.
