As a Principal Technical Writer based in Bangalore, you will join the documentation team to lead documentation strategy across the product ecosystem. Your days will involve creating high-impact, developer-focused content such as API references and tutorials, partnering with engineering and product management teams for major releases, reviewing content, mentoring team members, and refining Docs-as-Code workflows. You will focus on translating complex database use cases into intuitive technical content, utilizing analytics, and ensuring the documentation meets top industry standards for developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, structure, and maintain developer documentation including tutorials, REST API references, and code samples.
• Partner with Engineering and Product Management for launch-ready documentation during product releases.
• Collaborate with Customer Support and Product teams to analyze user feedback and address documentation gaps.
• Refine style guides, optimize Docs-as-Code workflows, and use content analytics to measure quality.
• Foster writing excellence via peer mentoring, editorial reviews, and team training initiatives.
• Track industry trends, competitive benchmarking, and GenAI approaches for content development.

Requirements

• 8+ years of technical writing experience with database architectures and developer-centric enterprise products.
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL database management systems like Couchbase, MongoDB, ScyllaDB, or DynamoDB.
• Deep expertise with Git, VSCode, and static site generation platforms such as Antora, MkDocs, Mintlify, or Hugo.
• Experience documenting REST APIs and reading or writing sample code in languages like Python, Java, C#, C++, Rust, or Ruby.
• Practical experience using documentation analytics, KPIs, and GenAI tools for documentation and development.
• Proven track record as a strategic leader setting direction and establishing processes for enterprise products.
