As a Career Manager at Appian Corporation in Chennai, India, you will guide local consultants through transformative professional journeys while building operational excellence that drives business growth and Customer Success. Appian provides AI automation for major business processes, and the People Team works closely with Professional Services to develop world-class consulting talent. On a normal day, you will oversee talent development systems, partner with top consultants to build career frameworks, manage feedback cycles and promotion calibrations alongside project leaders, and act as a trusted advisor to around 50 consultants. You will align individual career aspirations with regional business needs, support continuous learning, handle internal operational processes, and ensure consultants receive the coaching and support required to solve complex, mission-critical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve talent development, evaluation, feedback, and retention systems.
• Collaborate with top consultants to build consulting career development frameworks.
• Enhance performance management processes including feedback cycles, reviews, and promotion calibrations.
• Align talent initiatives with regional business objectives alongside Customer Success global leaders.
• Provide proactive 1-on-1 counseling and guidance to a pool of approximately 50 consultants.
• Support internal operational processes such as feedback tracking, timesheets, and compliance.
• Connect consultants with appropriate advisors and learning opportunities to advance their careers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organization Development, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Management, or Career Counseling.
• Background in a consulting or professional services environment.
• Proven experience managing a resource pool with strong one-on-one coaching and mentoring capabilities.
• Ability to align workforce capability development with short and long-term business objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to develop talent to support business performance and growth.
