As an Expert Middleware Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing enterprise infrastructure, supporting critical systems, and aligning technical solutions with the company's broader strategy. In this dynamic role, a typical day involves hands-on work with middleware technologies, configuring high availability solutions, researching system vulnerabilities, and collaborating with team members to design computer system configurations. You will also spend your time developing automation and reporting solutions using scripting languages, monitoring systems to eliminate bottlenecks, and participating in disaster recovery planning meetings. Additionally, you will draft documentation for patches and updates, prepare periodic capacity reports, and help drive process and efficiency improvements across operations to ensure seamless performance for clients.

Responsibilities

• Execute implementation, support, and upgrades for IBM DataPower or IBM MQ
• Install and configure high availability compute solutions for critical functions
• Design and document procedures for applying patches, code, and firmware updates
• Research system vulnerabilities and document corrective actions
• Develop automation and reporting solutions utilizing multiple scripting languages
• Monitor and tune systems to resolve issues and eliminate potential bottlenecks
• Contribute to client disaster recovery planning and prepare capacity reports
• Build guidelines and procedures for systems management and efficiency improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 6+ years of related experience
• At least 6 years of hands-on experience with IBM DataPower or IBM MQ
• Understanding of virtual servers, operating systems, storage, and data protection
• Proficiency in multiple scripting languages for automation and reporting
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously including timelines and resources
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Track record of meeting SLAs, production deadlines, and team commitments
• Willingness to work in 24*7 rotational shifts

Good to have

• Experience with other IBM products
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP for environment management
• Experience with DevOps and Agile frameworks
• System configuration automation scripting with Perl, Python, Bash, Chef, or Puppet
• Understanding of the competitive landscape from business and technical perspectives
