As a Principal Scientist at Precision Medicine Group in Bangalore, you will play a key role in helping the company deliver exceptional services to global biopharmaceutical clients. Working alongside the Senior Vice President of Lab Operations, you will implement scientific plans for translational medicine research, particularly focusing on immuno-oncology, autoimmune, and inflammatory areas. A normal day involves designing and developing innovative flow cytometry and cell-based assays, communicating progress to clients, and ensuring compliance with regulations like GLP, CAP, and CLIA. You will also spend significant time providing hands-on training, mentoring junior scientists, and leading the flow laboratory team to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentoring, coaching, and team leadership to the Flow Laboratory team members.
• Design and implement cell-based assays such as complex flow immunophenotyping and primary cell assays to meet client requirements.
• Write and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) ensuring proper regulatory compliance.
• Perform cell assays utilizing current SOPs including flow immunophenotyping and ELISpot.
• Generate technical reports, white papers, and communications to present data to clients and conferences.
• Train scientific and technical staff in laboratory procedures, data review, and safe lab practices.
• Track and trend laboratory efficiency and quality while performing duties independently.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in life sciences or a relevant field, preferably in Immunology or Cellular Biology.
• At least 8 years of full-time post-doctoral laboratory experience.
• Strong bench scientist skills with hands-on flow cytometry and cell-based assay experience.
• Experience in validation and qualification of assays to CAP, CLIA, GLP, or ISO guidelines.
• Experience with cell sorting, troubleshooting, and managing client relationships.
• Ability to see and differentiate between colors on the full color spectrum.
• Ability to lift and carry between 1-15 lbs., and up to 50 lbs. overhead with assistance.

Good to have

• 10-15+ years of experience as a core lab member with a leadership role managing a flow cytometry team.
• Industrial experience and management of outside collaborations.
• Experience with viral infections, cell culture, and cell line derivation.
• Experience with nucleic acid extraction and characterization from primary human samples.
