As a Principal/Senior Data Analyst at Zynga in Bengaluru, your day-to-day work involves acting as the analytics owner for Words With Friends Instant. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to analyze player behavior, oversee feature health, run experiments, and shape overall game strategy. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Product team to enhance revenue, retention, and engagement metrics via A/B testing and dashboards.
- Analyze player behavior to translate findings into actionable experience improvements.
- Communicate findings and strategic recommendations to senior and executive stakeholders.
- Design and maintain ETL pipelines and game telemetry to capture player interaction data.
- Support feature tuning for long-term game health and actively play games to understand mechanics.
- Monitor workflow tools, participate in the Analytics Org's AI initiative, and share analytics best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 8 years in data science or analytics roles, with 6 years in Product Data Science or Gaming Analytics.
- Demonstrated experience guiding product teams through complex decisions and dealing with ambiguous data.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Demonstrated experience in data visualization, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain complex data simply.
- High self-motivation, collaborative spirit, and willingness to take ownership of challenges.
Good to have
- Advanced degrees such as Masters or PhD.
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools like Tableau and version control systems like Git.
