As a Senior Accountant for Corporate Accounting based in Bengaluru, you will join the Controllership Team to help modernize accounting operations. Pebl focuses on removing compliance risks and enabling global business growth through advanced technology and local expertise. In this hybrid role requiring US hours during the month-end close, a normal day involves managing key closing activities, partnering with FP&A and cross-functional teams, ensuring US GAAP compliance, performing variance analyses, and leveraging AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT to automate manual tasks and scale accounting workflows.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and quarter-end close cycles, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure all assigned accounting activities strictly adhere to US GAAP standards.
• Perform monthly flux and variance analyses to explain material movements to finance leadership.
• Collaborate with FP&A and department leaders on monthly actual versus budget variance reviews.
• Identify and execute improvements to internal controls and financial processes.
• Utilize AI tools to automate manual workflows and accelerate the closing timeline.
• Lead PBC items for assigned GL areas during annual external audits.
• Partner with cross-functional teams like Legal, Payroll, and Benefits to resolve accounting challenges.

Requirements

• BA or BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, accrual accounting, and general ledger operations.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting flux and variance analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency with large datasets and complex formulas.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.

Good to have

• Active CA or CPA credential, or working as a candidate.
• Combined Big 4 public accounting and industry background.
• Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, and Zip systems.
• Familiarity with technical accounting matters such as ASC 842, ASC 350-40, and ASC 340-40.
• Hands-on proficiency with AI tools applied to accounting tasks.
