As a Senior Network Reliability Engineer for Incident Management at Skylo in Bangalore, you serve as the operational nerve center of the company's 24x7 incident response function. Skylo operates a cloud-native platform bridging terrestrial and satellite networks to connect smartphones and IoT devices directly to satellites. In this role, you own the bridge from first alert to full-service restoration. A normal day involves independently commanding bridge calls for Sev 1 to 4 incidents, managing the full incident lifecycle end-to-end, triaging network degradations, engaging subject matter experts, executing runbooks, maintaining shift handoffs, and ensuring network availability and SLA commitments to mobile network operator partners are consistently met.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the central command point during network degradations, service disruptions, and subscriber-impacting events by opening and maintaining command on bridge calls.
- Own end-to-end incident lifecycle management for Sev 1 through 4, identifying causes and impacted domains while maintaining strict bridge discipline.
- Prioritize incidents according to urgency and business impact using alarm signatures, subscriber impact data, and domain KPI telemetry.
- Escalate critical issues to subject matter experts in Operations and Engineering with full technical context and documented timelines.
- Ensure all trouble tickets are created promptly in Jira or ServiceNow with complete technical details, troubleshooting steps, and outcomes.
- Produce structured incident timelines within two hours of closure and coordinate post-incident review scheduling.
- Participate in the global follow-the-sun on-call rotation and maintain shift handoff hygiene with written end-of-shift summaries.
Requirements
- Experience operating in a 24x7 incident response function or network operations center environment.
- Ability to independently command bridge calls for major severity incidents.
- Familiarity with incident management systems such as Jira or ServiceNow.
- Capability to triage and classify incident severity using alarm signatures, subscriber impact data, and KPI telemetry.
- Strong communication skills for interfacing with subject matter experts, vendor support teams, and partner NOCs.
Good to have
- Experience in RAN, 5G Core, Cloud Infrastructure, or OSS network domains.
- Background in satellite communications or direct-to-device connectivity technologies.
- Familiarity with Service Assurance and Automation domain requirements.
