At siteminder in Pune, the Senior Software Engineer position involves building technology for the world's leading hotel commerce platform, which supports tens of thousands of hotels globally. In a normal day, you will design and develop software solutions following engineering standards, tackle meaningful technical challenges using AI, maintain system resilience, and improve overall quality. You will collaborate closely with distributed agile teams, participate in code reviews, mentor other developers, and support production systems through an on-call roster, all while helping shape the future of hotel commerce technology.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications focusing on performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional distributed agile teams to deliver quality solutions.
• Perform pair-programming, review pull requests, and contribute incremental code improvements.
• Lead code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.
• Participate in release and team activities like planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
• Write clean, organized code while balancing performance and robustness.
• Support production systems via an on-call roster and write infrastructure as code.

Requirements

• Experience in Java/JVM technologies, preferably springboot.
• Understanding of microservice architectures and RESTful APIs.
• AWS experience with services such as EC2, Kinesis, SQS, Lambda, or S3.
• Competency with relational and key/value store databases like MySQL, Aurora, Cassandra, or Redis.
• Knowledge of code testability, build pipelines, Docker, and CI/CD systems.
• Familiarity with best practices, technologies, and modern programming languages.

• Previous experience in Kotlin
