This role of Senior Workday Staff Engineer sits within the IT and People Technology team in Bengaluru, acting as Arrive's internal technical authority for Workday. It is a hands-on technical configuration and solution architecture position focused on driving best practices rather than project management. A normal day involves designing integrations, executing complex configurations across modules like HCM and Compensation, conducting cross-module impact analyses, managing biannual releases, and partnering closely with People & Culture, Finance, and IT Security teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical configuration across HCM, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Performance & Talent, Security, and Advanced Reporting.
• Design, build, and maintain Workday integrations including EIBs, Workday Studio connectors, and API-based data flows.
• Act as internal Solution Architect by assessing downstream module impacts before changes are approved and deployed.
• Define and maintain internal configuration guidelines and apply external Workday best practices.
• Translate business and people strategy goals into structured requirements and robust solution designs.
• Lead biannual release assessments, own change control processes, and ensure appropriate impact analysis and testing.
• Partner closely with IT, People & Culture, Finance, and IT Security as a trusted technical peer.

Requirements

• Overall 10+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience.
• Deep expertise in Advanced Compensation, Complex Reporting, and Benefits, alongside core HCM and Security.
• Strong command of Workday Security including domain and business process security policies and access groups.
• Exposure to SOX-aligned change management or ISO 27001 processes.
• Expert-level proficiency in Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Matrix/Composite Reports, and BIRT.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining Workday integrations like EIBs, Workday Studio, and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Workday Pro Certification in one or more modules such as HCM, Compensation, Benefits, or equivalent.

• Exposure to adjacent platforms like ServiceNow, Okta, or Asana.
• Background in global or multi-region Workday environments across EMEA and APAC.
• GDPR and regional compliance awareness.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, HR Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
