At Kaseya, a leading provider of AI-powered IT management and cybersecurity software, the Software Engineer II role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems for SaaS applications. A normal day in this role involves writing clean code, building automated test frameworks alongside features, troubleshooting production issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and testing. Engineers own the full software lifecycle from design to deployment and support, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed applications using Java and modern cloud technologies.
• Own features throughout the entire lifecycle from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support.
• Build automated tests and validation frameworks alongside feature development, including functional, integration, and regression coverage.
• Investigate customer-reported issues, production incidents, and service degradations to perform root-cause analysis.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines that automate build, testing, deployment, and security scanning processes.
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate software development, testing, debugging, and codebase analysis.
• Collaborate with Product, Security, Architecture, Platform, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience building SaaS applications, distributed systems, enterprise platforms, or cloud-native services.
• 3+ years of experience developing backend services using Java.
• Strong proficiency with Java and modern backend development frameworks such as Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
• Experience building automated test frameworks and validation tooling using technologies such as JUnit, TestNG, REST Assured, Selenium, or Playwright.
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as coding assistants, code generation tools, or intelligent debugging solutions.

Good to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle relational database technologies.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized development or testing environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience integrating security scanning, observability, automated testing, and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
