As a Staff Software Engineer for the RMM Backend team in Pune, you will play a hands-on role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services, APIs, and cloud-native platform capabilities. Operating in a full lifecycle ownership model, a normal day involves building reliable SaaS applications using Java and modern cloud technologies while simultaneously creating automated validation frameworks and tests. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in architecture discussions, troubleshoot complex issues using telemetry and logs, and leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed applications using Java.
- Own features through the full lifecycle from design and development to testing and production support.
- Build automated tests and validation frameworks alongside feature development for comprehensive coverage.
- Investigate production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventative solutions.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development, testing, and codebase analysis.
- Collaborate with Product, Security, and Architecture teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience building SaaS applications or distributed systems.
- 8+ years of experience developing backend services using Java.
- Strong proficiency in Java and modern frameworks like Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
- Experience building automated test frameworks using tools like JUnit, TestNG, or REST Assured.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and working with cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience using AI-assisted development and coding tools.

- Experience with event-driven architectures and technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
