As a Solutions Architect at Databricks in Bengaluru, you will join a Global Capability Center Field Engineering team to shape the future of Data and AI. Databricks is the Data and AI company offering a unified platform relied on by thousands of organizations to build and scale data apps, analytics, and agents. In this role, you will act as a trusted long-term technical advisor for named strategic accounts, collaborating closely with internal sales, product, and engineering teams. A normal day involves guiding sophisticated enterprise customers through modern Lakehouse architectures, designing GenAI and ML systems, building end-to-end proofs of concept, and solving complex challenges in data engineering, data science, and analytics while fostering durable client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the trusted technical advisor for named strategic accounts to build deep relationships with platform engineering and data leaders.
• Partner with data science and AI teams to design GenAI and ML architectures and transition AI ambitions into production systems.
• Collaborate with sales teams to provide hands-on technical leadership and help large enterprises solve business problems.
• Consult on modern Lakehouse architectures and implement proofs of concept for data engineering, warehousing, and machine learning.
• Support regional and global account teams with consistent architectural guidance across international footprints.
• Promote and recruit contributors for open-source projects including Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Unity Catalog.

Requirements

• 12+ years in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, or similar pre-sales and consulting roles.
• 8+ years hands-on experience with Big Data and AI technologies like Apache Spark and modern AI/ML workloads.
• Strong architectural experience to whiteboard, design, and personally build end-to-end solutions.
• Demonstrated experience working with large enterprise or Fortune 500 customers across multiple geographies.
• Strong consulting and customer-facing experience working with external clients across diverse industries.
• Coding experience in Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
• Experience building distributed data systems at enterprise scale and working with at least one major public cloud.

Good to have

• Experience working with digital-native or SaaS enterprises with mature data and AI practices.
• Prior experience working in or with a Global Capability Center model.
• Databricks Certification.
