In this role, a Staff Security Software Engineer will design and build scalable security platforms and distributed systems to strengthen the company's security posture. A normal day in this hands-on individual contributor role involves leading the design and implementation of security engineering initiatives, partnering with multiple teams to translate requirements into production-ready solutions, driving architecture and technical design reviews, evaluating emerging technologies and AI capabilities, and providing technical leadership and mentorship across engineering teams in Bengaluru.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-impact security engineering initiatives.
• Build scalable security platforms and distributed systems to address complex security challenges.
• Collaborate across Security, Engineering, Infrastructure, and GRC teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
• Drive architecture, technical design reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and security solutions through prototypes and technical investigations.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong technical leadership experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, or C++.
• Experience designing, building, and operating highly scalable and reliable software platforms.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, distributed systems, performance, and reliability.
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, including IAM, security controls, logging, and access management.
• Security engineering experience in domains like vulnerability management, GRC, application and data security, IAM, detection and response, or security automation.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Good to have

• Experience building security products, platforms, or services at scale.
• Experience leveraging AI technologies to improve security capabilities or engineering productivity.
• Track record of driving architecture and technical strategy across multiple teams and organizations.
• Experience solving large-scale availability, scalability, and performance challenges in production environments.
