NETGEAR creates intelligent networking products and solutions to connect people, support businesses, and improve daily life through advanced connectivity. In this role, you will help build the cloud-based Network Management System (NMS) platform. Your regular work day involves taking full ownership of features like network device configuration modules and monitoring dashboards, integrating with vendor APIs, creating interactive data visualizations, optimizing application performance, and collaborating with backend engineering teams. You will also write automation scripts, fix customer-reported issues, and mentor junior team members while researching new networking technologies for the platform.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of medium-complexity features like configuration modules and monitoring dashboards.
• Integrate with different network equipment vendors' APIs and management protocols.
• Build interactive charts, graphs, and network topology visualizations for real-time monitoring.
• Optimize application performance for handling network telemetry data and real-time updates.
• Work with backend teams to design APIs for network device management.
• Contribute to mobile apps used by field technicians for device configuration.
• Develop automation scripts and tools for device provisioning and bulk configuration.
• Debug and resolve customer-reported issues and mentor Engineer II team members.

Requirements

• Frontend proficiency with React.js, MUI/Material UI, TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern CSS frameworks.
• Backend development experience using Node.js, Python, or Java with API and database skills.
• Basic understanding of SNMP, SSH, and HTTP-based device management protocols.
• Experience with both relational databases and time-series databases.
• Hands-on experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of real-time technologies such as WebSockets or Server-Sent Events.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines or Docker.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field with 5-7 years of software development experience.

Good to have

• Exposure to networking concepts or infrastructure software.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Understanding of network monitoring concepts and key performance indicators.
