NETGEAR is hiring a Senior Windows Desktop Agent Developer based in Bengaluru, India, for a full-time role. NETGEAR focuses on unleashing connectivity potential through intelligent networking products and security solutions that protect and connect users. In this position, you will help build the Windows desktop client for a next-generation security platform, enabling features like Secure Access Service Edge, VPN, and Zero Trust Network Access. On a normal day, you will design secure desktop applications, build advanced networking functions, collaborate with backend, product, and QA teams, write clean testable code, conduct code reviews, and ensure high performance, security, and usability across the Windows client experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance, secure Windows desktop applications for the NETGEAR security platform.
• Implement advanced networking features including VPN connectivity, secure tunneling, and ZTNA access using Windows capabilities and protocols like IPSec or WireGuard.
• Partner with backend engineers, product managers, UI/UX designers, and QA teams to deliver desktop features.
• Ensure apps comply with security best practices, data protection, and Windows guidelines for sandboxing, signing, and installation.
• Write modular, clean code with strong unit and integration test coverage using frameworks like xUnit or NUnit, while driving CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform code reviews, mentor junior team members, and maintain high engineering standards.
• Monitor trends in endpoint cybersecurity, networking, and Windows desktop app development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5 to 8 years of professional experience in Windows desktop app development using C#, .NET, Win32, and WPF.
• Hands-on expertise with PowerShell scripting and Windows networking APIs or system frameworks like WFP and WinINet.
• Experience with certificate-based authentication, Windows Hello, biometrics, or OS-level security APIs.
• Familiarity with VPN protocols such as WireGuard or IPSec for secure tunnels and endpoint network clients.
• Experience with Windows application packaging, deployment tools, and code signing like WiX, MSI, MSIX, and ClickOnce.
• Understanding of desktop security including encryption, secure storage, sandboxing, DPAPI, and authentication.
• Proficiency in debugging, performance profiling, and optimizing Windows desktop applications.

Good to have

• Familiarity with cross-platform desktop frameworks such as Electron, Qt, or Flutter Desktop.
• Experience with enterprise deployment and endpoint management solutions like Microsoft Intune.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or TeamCity.
• Experience with crash reporting and telemetry platforms such as Sentry or App Center.
