NETGEAR is hiring a SASE Firewall SW Developer in Bengaluru to build next-generation cybersecurity and firewall solutions. NETGEAR creates intelligent networking products designed to connect people, power businesses, and protect customers through innovative technology. In this position, you will help design and implement software for critical security domains, focusing on Next-Generation Firewall capabilities, Secure Access Service Edge, Zero Trust Network Access, Secure Web Gateways, VPNs, and SD-WAN. A normal day in this role involves designing and developing core software modules, collaborating with cross-functional teams and architects, conducting code reviews, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and ensuring the performance and security of software components. You will also help shape technical directions and support continuous integration processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize firewall software modules for next-generation cybersecurity solutions.
• Contribute to design decisions and the technical direction of the firewall and cybersecurity platform.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and security of software components through thoughtful design and testing.
• Mentor junior developers and promote best practices in coding, design, and software development lifecycles.
• Conduct code reviews, create technical documentation, and support CI/CD processes.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and security threats to keep products competitive.
• Troubleshoot complex technical problems and deliver timely resolutions in development and production environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5 to 8 years of networking, cloud, and security software development experience.
• Background in systems programming, networking, or security-related domains.
• Expertise in firewall and network technologies like NGFW, DPI, IDS/IPS, NAT, VPNs, SWG, ZTNA, SD-WAN, and SASE.
• Experience with Linux networking and packet-processing stacks such as netfilter, iptables, nftables, eBPF/XDP, or DPDK.
• Proficiency in cloud-native architectures, microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in programming languages including C, C++, Go, Rust, or Python.

Good to have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and modern DevOps practices.
• Contributions to open-source security or networking projects.
