Emergent Labs is looking for a Finance Manager to join its Bengaluru team. The company builds autonomous coding agents that create, test, and deploy production applications from plain-language intent, serving millions of users across more than 190 countries. In this high-ownership role, you will lead the finance operations function, managing how money moves through both Indian and US entities. A normal day involves overseeing accounts payable and receivable, managing treasury and banking relationships, handling cross-border remittances and forex, executing statutory compliance such as GST and TDS, and coordinating payroll inputs. You will act as the primary contact for internal teams regarding payments, vendor queries, and reimbursements. This position requires building robust processes, controls, and automation to maintain financial discipline while supporting rapid business growth.

Responsibilities

• Run accounts payable and receivable end to end across entities.
• Manage employee reimbursements, corporate cards, and subscription spend.
• Track daily cash positions and produce cash and burn reports.
• Handle banking relationships, forex, and cross-border remittances.
• Execute India statutory compliance including GST, TDS, PF, and ESI.
• Coordinate payroll inputs and payments for employees and contractors.
• Drive automation and process improvements in financial workflows.

Requirements

• Chartered Accountant qualification.
• 5 to 7 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a startup.
• Hands-on experience with AP, AR, and month-end operational closes.
• Knowledge of GST, TDS, FEMA, and cross-border payment compliance.
• Experience with bank, treasury, and forex operations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, accounting software, and Excel.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and approval workflows.

Good to have

• Experience at a SaaS, consumer subscription, or technology company.
• Exposure to usage-based or credit-based pricing models.
• Experience supporting fundraising or working with India and US entities.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools like Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT.
