As a QA Lead at Instawork in Bengaluru, you will play a vital role within Instawork Robotics Labs (IRL). Instawork operates an AI-powered labor marketplace that connects skilled hourly professionals with local businesses while helping global technology companies push the boundaries of robotics and AI. IRL addresses the physical AI data gap by deploying skilled workers into real environments to capture high-fidelity task data for robotics foundation models. In this position, your team manages workforce operations, implements quality systems, maintains SOPs, and bridges cross-functional engineering teams. A normal day involves overseeing daily workforce management across shifts, optimizing staffing and capacity, analyzing QA metrics like defect and reject rates, applying quality frameworks such as RCA and FMEA to resolve issues, and translating engineering requirements into actionable floor criteria to ensure operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day workforce operations and capacity planning across multiple shifts and sites.
• Maintain the QMS and apply structured quality methods to address defects and calibration drift.
• Build, version-control, and update SOPs for existing and new program launches.
• Bridge engineering data requirements with floor-executable QA criteria.
• Monitor and analyze QA metrics including defect rates, yield, and escalation volume.
• Represent QA in program launches and cross-functional discussions.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing large or dispersed grading and QA teams across multiple shifts or sites.
• Strong working command of quality methods including RCA, CAPA, FMEA, 8D, SPC, and QMS frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to build and interpret quality dashboards and analyze operational metrics.
• Clear and structured communication skills for interacting with leadership, engineering, and floor teams.
• Hands-on, high-ownership approach to solving operational challenges directly on the floor.
