The Quality Engineering Manager for the FlashArray Foundation team in Bangalore will lead a team of Quality Engineers and Software Test Developers. This role bridges software, hardware, firmware, and cloud infrastructure. A normal day involves building and mentoring a new team, driving quality strategies and shift-left automation, partnering with cross-functional development and product teams to translate roadmap requirements into testing plans, modernizing test frameworks using automation and AI-assisted tools, and utilizing quality metrics to prevent recurring issues.

Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and coach a newly forming team of quality and automation engineers in Bangalore.
• Define and execute the FlashArray Foundation quality roadmap, including risk-based coverage and automated CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Collaborate early in the design cycle with Development, Architecture, Product, and Release teams to improve testability and ensure high-confidence product deliveries.
• Modernize test automation frameworks, testbed configurations, and triage workflows by incorporating AI-assisted engineering tools.
• Utilize quality metrics and root-cause analyses from customer escalations to establish durable automated test coverage.

Requirements

• 15+ years of overall technical software experience, including 3+ years directly managing, hiring, and scaling engineering teams.
• Experience delivering complex software, hardware, firmware, or distributed infrastructure products within enterprise storage, networking, or embedded systems domains.
• Deep expertise in test architecture, systems validation, shift-left CI/CD execution, and designing scalable automation frameworks using Python or similar programming languages.
• Solid grounding in Linux environments, storage protocols such as NVMe and FC, hardware qualification, fault injection, and long-running reliability testing.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a track record of partnering across distributed global engineering teams.

Good to have

• Experience validating enterprise storage platforms, NVMe-oF architectures, or New Product Introduction platform refreshes.
• Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD tools like Jenkins, observable quality dashboards, and automated failure classification systems.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for automated test design, triage, and log analysis.
• Experience managing engineering teams across multi-region locations such as Bangalore and North America.
