In this role as an SDET for Portworx based in Bangalore, India, you will join an environment that is reshaping the cloud-native, modern virtualization, and AI infrastructure landscape. You will work on Portworx, ensuring it delivers enterprise-grade storage, data protection, availability, and resiliency across containerized applications, virtual machines, and demanding AI/ML workloads running on Kubernetes. A normal day in this role involves owning system-level quality, building and maintaining Golang-based automation test suites, running failure and resiliency testing in large-scale Kubernetes environments, and collaborating with cross-geography development, QE, and architecture teams to troubleshoot complex issues and support concurrent product and feature releases.

Responsibilities

• Own system-level quality for Portworx Enterprise across Kubernetes, storage, and modern virtualization environments.
• Develop comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and automation for multiple concurrent product and feature releases.
• Build and maintain scalable automation test suites with a focus on Golang and code quality.
• Drive validation of HA, resiliency, disaster recovery, upgrades, scale, and failure scenarios in large-scale Kubernetes environments.
• Identify functional and automation coverage gaps, assess risks early, and drive product quality improvements.
• Collaborate with development, QE, and architecture teams across geographies to troubleshoot complex system-level issues.
• Ensure CI/CD pipelines and automation infrastructure execute required functional, regression, and system test strategies.

Requirements

• Strong SDET mindset with the ability to design complex distributed system test failure scenarios.
• Strong programming and automation skills, preferably in Golang with Python experience also valuable.
• Strong debugging skills across Kubernetes, Linux, storage, and virtualization.
• BS/MS degree with 8+ years of software testing/SDET experience in distributed systems, infrastructure, storage, or virtualization.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Kubernetes application lifecycle management.
• Strong background in enterprise storage (file/block/Object) and Kubernetes persistent storage/CSI.
• Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across geographically distributed teams.

Good to have

• Experience working with VMWare/HyperV, KubeVirt, or Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.
• Experience with Kubernetes platforms such as OpenShift, EKS, AKS, or GKE.
• Working experience with public clouds such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Experience with tools such as Git, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, Jira, Confluence, and X-ray.
