As a Senior Data Scientist for Supply Chain Operations Research based in Bengaluru, you will join the Supply Chain Planning Science team to develop and launch advanced optimization solutions. Your day-to-day work involves creating and productionizing models for warehouse routing, inventory planning, transportation, and network optimization. You will manage modelling workstreams from problem formulation to production deployment, collaborate with cross-geographical teams in Bengaluru and Palo Alto, and partner with logistics stakeholders to turn complex operational challenges into scalable, measurable solutions using classical optimization and AI-native approaches.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end modelling workstreams across warehouse routing, shipping cost optimization, multimodal transportation, and network flow.
• Translate complex operational supply chain challenges into well-defined optimization problems with clear constraints and objectives.
• Apply Operations Research methodologies including Linear Programming, Mixed-Integer Programming, heuristics, and network flow.
• Apply AI-native workflows including LLM-assisted model formulation and agentic decomposition of optimization problems.
• Build, deploy, monitor, and iterate optimization models into production rather than stopping at analytical prototypes.
• Partner with Planning Tools Engineering on solver integration, feature stores, and model-serving infrastructure.
• Collaborate across geographies with the Palo Alto Planning Science team on shared supply chain optimization problems.
• Work closely with logistics and warehouse stakeholders to translate operational realities into actionable modelling requirements.

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience in Operations Research, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong fundamentals in Operations Research and mathematical optimization.
• Experience taking modelling problems end-to-end from problem framing through production deployment.
• Ability to select, configure, and tune appropriate optimization solvers.
• Engineering fluency with a bias toward production impact and software best practices.
• Experience designing and running rigorous experiments using historical and operational data.
• Clear communication skills for documenting and sharing modelling approaches with distributed teams.
