As a Senior Engineer I for the SASE Platform at NETGEAR, you will join a talented team focused on delivering high-performance, secure, and scalable cloud and networking solutions. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining the security cloud platform. A normal day in this onsite Bengaluru office involves designing and deploying cybersecurity features, writing control-plane and data-plane software for optimal packet processing, partnering with architecture teams, conducting code reviews, mentoring colleagues, and resolving escalated customer issues. You will work at the forefront of networking, cloud, and security technologies to build robust enterprise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete lifecycle of cybersecurity features from initial design to final production deployment.
• Partner with Architecture and Product Lifecycle Management teams to define system architecture and implementation strategies.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth feature releases and production transitions.
• Mentor team members and oversee code reviews to maintain high development standards.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering to investigate and resolve escalated customer requirements and issues.
• Test code in staging environments and optimize systems for better scalability and performance.
• Plan and define reliable release processes for delivering new features to customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience designing and developing large-scale cloud deployments.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools and coding agents to boost productivity and debugging.
• Expertise in cloud environments utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, VMs, and multi-cluster database architectures.
• Strong programming skills in Golang, Python, and Bash, alongside proficiency in REST and Open APIs.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity features like firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS security, and deep packet inspection.
• Solid foundation in networking concepts including routing, IPv6, NAT/NPT, and Docker networking.
• Proficiency with automation frameworks, Wireshark, Git, Jira, and intelligent IDEs.

Good to have

• Experience with automation testing tools
• Understanding of Web UI technologies
