DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I-Storage for their Bengaluru team to help build and support scalable cloud platforms. In this role, you will be part of the Object Storage team, which is responsible for the operations and development of backup, block volume, image management, and object storage systems. A normal day in this position involves designing, developing, and operating high-performance and durable storage systems. You will work on distributed systems, utilize storage protocols like S3, focus on performance tuning, and apply observability practices to guarantee enterprise-grade reliability and usability. Additionally, you will collaborate with peers, write code in languages like Go, and contribute to open-source software communities while solving complex scaling challenges.

Requirements

• 7+ years of knowledge of object or other distributed storage and scaling those solutions
• Familiarity with object storage systems such as MinIO, Ceph, AWS S3, Scality, or similar
• Experience teaming up with an agile, self-motivated group of peers to design, develop, test, and deploy software in modern tools and languages like Go
• Familiarity with concurrency and parallelism models in a modern programming language
• Ability to share responsibility for maintaining storage product availability and performance
• Skill in collaborating with and contributing to open source communities
• Capacity to solve complex problems of scale in a technical environment

Good to have

• Experience with gRPC
• Experience with distributed data stores like Ceph
• Experience with storage hardware
