Quince is looking for a Software Development Engineer III for their mobile team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Quince is a manufacturer-to-consumer brand that offers high-quality essentials at low prices by cutting out traditional retail layers and leveraging technology, AI, and analytics. In this role, you will help build fast, reliable, and seamless mobile experiences for customers. A normal day involves designing, developing, and optimizing React Native applications, solving complex mobile engineering challenges, and collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams. You will take ownership of app performance, scalability, and architecture while also mentoring other engineers and driving technical excellence across the mobile engineering group.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance mobile applications using React Native.
• Drive mobile performance improvements across rendering, startup time, memory usage, and stability.
• Work deeply with React Native internals, TurboModules, and native iOS or Android code when needed.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test cases and participate in code reviews.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Backend teams to implement scalable mobile solutions.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and promote engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 to 8 years of professional experience in software, frontend, or mobile engineering.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building production applications with React Native.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript with a deep understanding of React Native fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, rendering, state management, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience optimizing React Native applications and troubleshooting complex issues.
