As a Staff Database Administrator at Kaseya Careers in Bangalore, you will manage and scale the SQL Server database infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Manage daily administration, patching, monitoring, and health of production and non-production SQL Server environments.
- Optimize database performance by tuning queries, analyzing execution plans, and managing indexes and wait statistics.
- Design and operate high-availability systems such as Always On Availability Groups and failover mechanisms.
- Oversee backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies, including regular testing and point-in-time recovery.
- Collaborate with developers to handle schema migrations and ensure data integrity across multi-tenant setups.
- Formulate the long-term SQL Server roadmap and assess cloud database options like Azure SQL and AWS RDS.
- Forecast capacity needs regarding storage, compute, IOPS, and overall database expansion.
- Work with security and DevOps teams on database security, access controls, automation, and participate in on-call rotations.
Requirements
- 6 or more years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience in enterprise production settings at a senior level.
- Expertise in SQL Server performance tuning, query rewrites, index design, and execution plans.
- Experience in designing and operating high availability systems using Always On Availability Groups.
- Strong knowledge of backup and recovery frameworks, point-in-time recovery, and disaster recovery testing.
- Background in supporting multi-tenant SaaS platforms, including schema versioning and tenant isolation.
- Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting for task automation and alerting.
- Effective written communication skills in English to collaborate with global teams across US and India time zones.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
