NETGEAR is hiring a Staff Engineer I - Software Development Insight to shape the technical architecture and strategic development of their cloud-based Network Management System platform. In this role, you will combine deep networking knowledge with full-stack engineering leadership to build enterprise-grade solutions that manage complex network infrastructures for global customers. A normal day in this position involves designing scalable multi-tenant architectures, leading AI-powered network analytics, optimizing platform performance for massive telemetry data streams, and mentoring engineering teams on best practices for network software development.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable multi-tenant architecture to manage thousands of network devices across customer environments.
• Lead the development of AI and ML-powered network analytics, predictive maintenance, and automated troubleshooting.
• Architect integrations with major network vendor management platforms and enterprise IT systems.
• Optimize platform performance to efficiently handle massive telemetry data streams from network devices.
• Design zero-trust security models for secure device access and customer data protection.
• Lead the design of comprehensive APIs for network automation and third-party integrations.
• Mentor engineering teams and establish best practices for network software development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 14+ years of software development experience with 5+ years in network management systems.
• Deep understanding of enterprise networking technologies, SDN/SD-WAN, network virtualization, and modern networking protocols.
• Expert-level experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and distributed data processing.
• Advanced experience with stream processing tools like Kafka or Apache Storm for handling network telemetry.
• Extensive experience with network vendor APIs and management protocols across different manufacturers.
• Proven track record of building SaaS platforms serving enterprise customers.

Good to have

• CCNA or CCNP network certification knowledge.
• Experience applying machine learning to network analytics and anomaly detection.
• Knowledge of cloud networking services, VPC design, and hybrid cloud architectures.
