Emergent Labs is hiring a full-time Video Editor to join their team in Bengaluru. Emergent builds autonomous coding agents that generate, test, and deploy production applications from plain-language intent, serving millions of users globally. In this role, you will create and edit video content distributed across social media channels, primarily targeting audiences in the US and Europe. A normal day involves cutting high volumes of short-form videos such as talking-head content, product demos, user stories, interviews, and trend-driven pieces for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. You will work closely with writers and on-camera creators from the script stage onward to plan edits, craft strong attention-grabbing hooks, incorporate motion graphics, and adapt quickly to fast-turnaround trends. The role requires managing project files, handling sound design, and refining pacing based on performance data.

Responsibilities

• Edit short-form video for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and X
• Cut longer interview and demo footage into various versions
• Build hooks that hold attention through the first three seconds
• Add captions, on-screen text, sound design, and music
• Create simple motion graphics and animated text
• Screen-record and edit product demos for clarity
• Reformat content for different platforms and aspect ratios
• Collaborate with writers and creators from the script stage

Requirements

• At least 4 years editing short-form social video with a viewable portfolio
• Strong command of Premiere Pro or Final Cut, plus After Effects
• A reel demonstrating range across talking head, demo, and narrative formats
• Ability to deliver multiple finished pieces weekly while maintaining quality
• Good ear for music and sound design
• Understanding of editing conventions for US and European feeds
• Based in Bengaluru or willing to relocate

Good to have

• Experience shooting as well as editing
• Motion design or 3D work
• Experience editing software or product demos
• Comfort using AI tools in the workflow for rough cuts, captions, or cleanup
