As an Associate Solutions Engineer (Manufacturing) for the night shift at Fictiv in Bengaluru, you will support critical quoting and manufacturability functions at the interface between builders and manufacturing partners. Fictiv is building a digital manufacturing platform that integrates a component catalog to help engineers and procurement teams accelerate innovation. In this role, you will apply your Mechanical Engineering background to interpret designs, review part manufacturability, prepare accurate quotes for custom parts, and flag design considerations affecting cost, quality, and lead time. Working under senior guidance, a normal day involves analyzing standard CNC machining and 3D printing parts, utilizing platform tools, generating 2D drawings, communicating routine clarifications to customers, and collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams like sales and operations to keep projects moving smoothly while learning region-specific manufacturing considerations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for standard and moderately complex CNC machining and other manufacturing parts.
• Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews on straightforward parts to highlight risks.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and material requirements to assess feasibility.
• Communicate with customers on routine clarifications and provide clear updates during quoting.
• Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Operations, and Sourcing to keep projects moving.
• Assist in generating clear 2D drawings per ANSI/ASME Y14.5 standards and maintain analysis records.
• Escalate complex geometries or non-standard processes to senior Solutions Engineers.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, quoting, design, or a related engineering function.
• 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent technical training.
• Working familiarity with CNC machining and 3D printing.
• Understanding of GD&T and conventional tolerancing.
• Working knowledge of the manufacturability and limitations of common metals and plastics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong time management skills.

Good to have

• Exposure to additional manufacturing processes like sheet metal, urethane casting, or injection molding.
