As a Bridge Product Accountant at Stripe in Bengaluru, you will focus on products developed by Stripe's Bridge subsidiary. You will work within the Product Accounting team, which supports various products by offering accounting guidance, recording financial transactions accurately on the balance sheet and income statement, and collaborating with international teams. A normal day in this full-time role involves handling month-end close activities, planning and performing journal entries, conducting reconciliations, analyzing financial results, identifying anomalies, and partnering with business and finance teams. You will use your technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP to evaluate customer impacts, advise cross-functional partners, and design scalable accounting solutions and internal controls to support global growth.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform monthly close activities like journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables for Bridge products.
• Recommend and implement scalable accounting processes to support global growth at Bridge.
• Partner with business and finance teams to advise on the accounting implications of new products, features, and contracts.
• Work with Internal Systems and Engineering teams to improve financial systems and automate accounting processes.
• Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and design processes for emerging business activities.
• Analyze financial results by understanding data and system flows to identify and address anomalies.
• Support external audit processes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accountancy qualification such as CA, CPA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and experience with internal controls.
• Experience with monthly or quarterly close processes, audits, regulatory reporting, and financial-statement preparation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to structure ambiguous work and build systems and automation.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders.

Good to have

• Experience in the technology or payments industry.
• Experience accounting for cryptocurrencies, including stablecoins.
• Experience with Oracle Suite.
• Experience with data-querying and analysis tools, including SQL.
