Responsibilities

• Lead sprint delivery and planning for a team of 6 to 12 engineers.
• Review code, specs, and AI-generated outputs for problem-solving effectiveness.
• Conduct regular 1:1s focused on growth, feedback, and career development.
• Manage escalations, root cause analyses, and P1/P2 support SLAs.
• Partner with product managers to define scope, surface risks, and track cycle times.
• Contribute to software architecture decisions and patent writing.

Requirements

• 10+ years in software engineering with 2+ years managing teams of 5 or more.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Architectural depth to evaluate tradeoffs, including AI-assisted output.
• Background in platform, API, data, or infrastructure engineering.
• Proficiency in Python or Java with code review experience.
• Familiarity with JIRA, ProductBoard, distributed systems, and data pipelines.

Good to have

• Experience running a platform or infrastructure team where engineers are customers.
• History of coaching individual contributors through meaningful promotions.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Experience collaborating across multiple time zones.
• Ability to adopt frameworks before they reach perfection.
