As a Manager, Software Engineering based in Bangalore, you will lead the Database Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure team. In this role, you will guide high-performing engineers responsible for architecting, scaling, and optimizing multi-cloud relational and in-memory database platforms. A normal day involves bridging technical execution, engineering leadership, and strategic infrastructure planning across AWS and Azure environments. You will oversee zero-downtime operations, enforce Infrastructure as Code principles, drive FinOps cost optimization practices, and mentor senior engineers to ensure high availability, security, and scalability of enterprise-grade database systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design and operations of enterprise-grade, multi-cloud relational databases across AWS and Azure.
• Drive high-availability strategies including Multi-AZ deployments, auto-failover groups, and cross-region disaster recovery.
• Manage scale operations for in-memory datastores like AWS ElastiCache and Azure Cache for Redis, including Valkey migration strategies.
• Enforce an Infrastructure as Code culture using Terraform, OpenTofu, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
• Partner with Finance and DevOps to drive FinOps practices, cost allocation, and serverless versus provisioned workload evaluations.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of senior database and cloud infrastructure engineers.
• Establish operational standards, service level objectives, and incident management practices for availability and security.

Requirements

• 12+ years of total software engineering or infrastructure experience.
• 3 to 5 years in an engineering management or technical leadership role focused on cloud databases.
• Deep hands-on experience operating managed relational databases in both AWS and Azure environments at enterprise scale.
• Proven track record managing Redis clusters and navigating Redis-to-Valkey migration strategies.
• Mastery of Infrastructure as Code principles and database migration tooling like Flyway or Liquibase.
• Demonstrated ability to optimize multi-cloud infrastructure costs and deliver measurable cloud savings.
• Direct experience implementing automated backups, zero-downtime blue/green deployments, and disaster recovery.
