As an Underwriting Auditor, you will safeguard the quality and compliance of risk decisions within the underwriting department. Your primary mission is to evaluate underwriting choices, spot operational gaps, and foster ongoing enhancements. On a typical day, you will review insurance cases against established standard operating procedures, track vital metrics like error rates and decision accuracy, share constructive feedback with underwriters, and spot systemic issues to report to leaders. You will also team up with the training division to refine processes, enhance guidelines, and contribute to automation efforts, ensuring that every consumer and agent receives a reliable, high-standard experience.

Responsibilities

• Audit underwriting cases to evaluate risk decisions, evidence utilization, and documentation quality against carrier guidelines and SOPs.
• Track and report quality metrics including error rates, decision accuracy, and SLA compliance.
• Provide structured feedback and support coaching interventions for underwriters.
• Identify trends in errors and evidence quality and escalate systemic issues to leadership.
• Collaborate with the training team to identify training needs.
• Contribute to process improvement, SOP enhancement, and automation initiatives.

Requirements

• Graduate or Postgraduate in Medicine or a related field, with M Pharma, Nursing, or MBBS preferred.
• More than 5 years of experience in Life or Health Insurance Underwriting with exposure to managing underwriting quality or audit functions.
• Strong knowledge of APS, EHR, Lab Piq interpretation, and US-based underwriting guidelines.
• High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Strong communication skills for feedback and reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel for trend analysis and scorecards.
